Instructor Babette Godefroy

At age 17, a week after graduating high school, Babette left home on a solo trip eager to explore South East Asia for a few months. There, she was introduced to yoga, meditation and taoism, which started her off on what would become a lifelong journey of discovering ways to enrich her mental, spiritual and physical well-being.

In the fall of 2017 Babette attended a yoga retreat with Shiva Rea in Malibu. It was a life-changing experience, as she spent a week practicing and learning with 40 women from around the world. At the end, she knew that teaching yoga was going to be in her future and she couldn’t wait to embark on that journey.

Babette completed the 200 hour teacher training at Sonic Yoga in NYC, and is currently enrolled in Sonic’s 300 hour advanced teacher training. Babette is also holds her NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Personal Training certificate.

Her teaching is very much influenced by world-renowned Yoga teacher Shiva Rea; she offers invigorating breath-inspired Vinyasa classes that emphasize fluid movement and traditional Namaskar variations, thereby creating a modern twist to an ancient practice.
