I’m new to yoga, can I still practice at Earth?

Yes, during class our instructors will offer modifications to suit every level of practitioner.

I’ve never done hot yoga, what can I expect?

The room is heated to 95 degrees in order to assist with warming the body to allow students to work deeper in their practices.  The heat also promotes detoxification through sweating.

Do you offer Non-Heated Classes?

Yes, Earth offers both heated and non-heated classes; click here for class details.

What time should I arrive for class?

We suggest you arrive at least 10 minutes before class in order to allow enough time to change and set up.

What if I’m late?

We have a 10-minute grace period, after which we will not allow students into class, as you will not be able to enjoy the full benefit of the practice, as well as to avoid disruption for the instructor and other students.

What if it’s my first time at the studio?

All new students should arrive at least 15 minutes early in order to complete our new student paperwork and liability waiver. From there, the desk team will set you up for class.

What should I wear to class?

Wear comfortable, breathable clothing that will allow freedom of movement.  We recommend yoga pants and tops for women, and shorts and t-shirts for men. Fabrics that aid in moisture wicking are also good choices.

Should I eat and drink before class?

We recommend that you eat a light snack such as a banana, trail mix, or an energy bar 1-2 hours before class. However, you know your body best, so it’s important to listen to its cues as every practitioner is different.

We also suggest you hydrate before class, bring water to class (no glass bottles), and replenish your electrolytes after class in order to avoid dehydration.

How old do I need to be to take class at Earth?

You must be 18 years of age to take heated classes, and 16 years of age to take non-heated classes (with parental consent).

Do you rent mats and towels?

We rent mats for $2 and non-skid towels for $1. Hand and body towels are free of charge.

Can I practice yoga when I am pregnant?

We do not recommend heated yoga for pregnant women, even if you’ve had a consistent practice prior. If you become pregnant while practicing at Earth, please let the studio know. If you are cleared for exercise by your OBGYN, you may take non-heated classes, but we do ask you let the instructor know you are pregnant before the start of class so they can offer the proper modifications when necessary.

What is your cancellation policy?

We ask that practitioners cancel at least 3 hours before class by emailing earthyoganyc@gmail.com.  No-shows will be charged for the class.
